She's the one who started it all. This photo was taken one October morning, a few hundred metres from the house — Marguerite had just come out of the water and held still one second too long, waiting for something to be thrown again. That's the whole Toller in a single image.

Every Marée Douce puppy is photographed on the same linen cloth, on the porch table — a small habit that lets us compare colours from one litter to the next.

Why the same tablecloth, every time?
Because a Toller's colour changes more than you'd think between birth and adulthood: a puppy is often paler, almost blond, then darkens toward mahogany as it grows. Photographing every litter on the same white linen, in the same porch light, lets us compare honestly from one year to the next — not flatter a single photo with nice studio lighting.
It's also a way of keeping a record: Isabelle looks back at these photos years later when an adopting family sends an update, to find the puppy inside the grown dog.
